Virtues of absolute nothingness. The Diamond Sutra, Verse 11 🌱

 

We permeate into the Diamond Sutra in English.

 

“Subhuti, if there were as many Ganges rivers as there are grains of sand in the Ganges, what do you think, would the number of grains of sand in them be very many?

Subhuti replies, “Very many, Lord. All the Ganges are uncountable, how much less the sand.”

“Subhuti, now I ask you, if some man or woman were to fill many world systems with as many precious things as the number of grains of sand in them as a gift of generosity, would they bring many merits?

Subhuti replies, “Very many, Lord.”

(But) The Buddha says to Subhuti, “if some man or woman know this sutra to accept even one stanza of four lines, and explain to others, the strength of this virtue would be far greater than that mentioned earlier.”
