Kim Heum-dol (627-681) is the nephew of Kim Yu-sin.

Jeong-hee, the daughter of Kim Seo-hyeon and Mrs. Man-myeong, marries Dal-bok and gives birth to Kim Heum-dol.

He is also the nephew of Kim Yu-sin's younger sister, Mun-hee.

Mun-hee, the consort of King Taejong Muyeol and the mother of King Mun-mu, becomes Empress Mun-myeong.

He is also Kim Yu-sin's son-in-law, having incestuously married Jin-gwang, the first daughter of Kim Yu-sin and Queen Yeongmo.

Kim Heum-dol's daughter can not bear a son, causing her to lose the favor of King Sinmun.

 

As King Munmu's death is imminent, Queen Empress Jaui appoints Ogi-gong, her younger sister's husband, as the Hosung general in charge of defending Gyeongju.

Hosung general Jin-gong, however, refuses to relinquish his duties.

When King Munmu dies, Kim Heum-dol secretly rebels and takes control of the palace with his soldiers.

With Ogi-gong and Jinbok-gong at the center, they break through the anti-Heumdol faction and enter the palace to suppress the rebellion.

The rebels fleed to the mountains.

The evil of the lawless accumulates and fills with sin, so heaven and earth come to help.

The offenders who commit crimes and violate the king's orders are executed and used as a warning.

Those who serve the king must be careful and correct his mistakes without having two hearts.

김흠돌(627-681)은 김유신의 외조카이다.

김서현과 만명부인의 딸 정희가 달복에게 시집가 김흠돌을 낳는다.

김유신의 여동생 문희의 외조카이기도 하다.

문희는 태종무열왕의 비이자 문무왕의 어머니로 문명태후에 오른다.

김유신의 사위도 된다.

김유신과 영모의 첫째 딸 진광과 근친혼을 한다.

제26세 풍월주 진공의 처남이다.

진공은 삼간三奸으로 김흠돌의 난에 가담한다.

 

진평왕(579-632).

선덕여왕(632-647).

진덕여왕(647-654).

태종무열왕(654-661).

 

656년 30세에 화랑으로 제27세 풍월주가 된다.

 

​진평왕의 손자 흥원을 차기 풍월주 후계자로 삼는다.

김흠돌과 흥원은 왕위가 진골의 김춘추에게 넘어간 것에 분노한다.

김흠돌의 난에 휩쓸리는 흠원 또한 삼간三奸중 하나이다.

661년(35세). 대당장군으로 고구려 원정에 나선다.

668년(42세) 대당총관으로 고구려 정벌에 나선다.

681년 55세의 김흠돌은 난을 주도한다.

​진공(제26세 풍월주)과 흥원이 흠돌과 공모하니 삼간三奸이다.

정치적 후견인인 외숙모 문명태후(김유신의 여동생 문희)가 세상을 떠난다.

김흠돌의 딸마저 아들을 낳지 못하자 신문왕의 총애를 잃는다.

문무왕의 죽음이 임박하니 왕비 자의태후는 여동생의 남편 오기공을 경주의 방위 책임자(호성장군)에 지명한다.

호성장군 진공은 직책을 넘기지 않는다.

문무왕이 숨을 거두자 김흠돌은 비밀에 부친다.

군사를 일으켜 궁을 장악한다.

오기공과 진복공을 중심으로 반흠돌파는 궁궐로 침입해 난을 평정한다.

무도한 자들은 산골짜기로 도망친다.

악이 쌓이고 쌓여 죄가 가득 차니 하늘과 땅이 돕는다.

도의를 범하고 왕의 명을 어긴 무리들을 처형시켜 경계로 삼는다.

왕을 섬기는 이는 마땅히 실수를 챙기고 결점을 보완한다.

두 마음을 갖지 않는다.
